And planned our flag on top. Quite an achievement for a hefty, exhausting climb mainly because of the altitude. Y planeado nuestra bandera en la cima del vulcano. Todo un logro para una buena, agotador ascenso, principalmente debido a la altitud. Doodop maar zeer tevreden kwamen zij vanmiddag weer terug in Arequipa.
During two weeks time Dr.Francisco Parri (Fundacion FES) and his team operated 34 children born with a cleftlip and/or cleftpalate in our hospital. This plastic surgery project was executed in cooperation with Fundacion FES, AMEPEBA (both from Barcelona) and Rotaryclub Selva Alegre, Arequipa. And we’re proud to announce that we will sign an agreement to execute for the next four years, every year a plastic surgery project to give more smiles.Durante dos semanas Dr.Francisco Parri (Fundación FES) y su equipo operado 34 niños nacidos con labio leporino y / o paladar hendido en nuestra hospital. Dit plastische chirurgie project werd uitgevoerd in samenwerking met FES, AMEPEBA (beiden Barcelona) en Rotaryclub Selva Alegre, Arequipa. En wij zijn trots te kunnen aankondigen dat we een overeenkomst met hen hebben getekend voor de komende vier jaar, zodat er ieder jaar een plastisch-chirurgisch project zal worden uitgevoerd.

Everyday Sophia is getting better step by step. After one year feeding her with a feeding tube, she can eat normal and that’s a big relief for us.Todos los días Sophia está mejorando paso a paso. Today was Sophia finally undergone her first surgery, closing her double harelip. Last July, she was severely malnourished (weighed only 2 lbs.) admitted to our hospital. And she had to be taken first overall by weight to undergo surgery and today was the day. Everyone has sympathized with her and came to see what brilliant result Dr.Francisco Parri, plastic surgeon, has achieved after surgery. Now a few days she will stay with us, but then really go home to her mother, her twin brother and other siblings.Hoy fue Sophia finalmente sometido a su primera cirugía, el cierre de su labio leporino bilateral. En julio pasado, fue gravemente desnutrido (pesaba sólo 2 libras.) ingresado en nuestro hospital. Y tenían que tener en primer lugar generar en peso a pasar por el quirófano y que hoy era el día. Vorig jaar juli werd zij zwaar ondervoed (woog slechts 2 kg.) opgenomen in ons ziekenhuis. En zij moest eerst geheel op gewicht gebracht worden om geopereerd te kunnen worden en vandaag was het dan zover. Iedereen heeft met haar meegeleefd en is na de operatie komen kijken welk schitterend resultaat Dr.Francisco Parri, plastisch chirurg, heeft bereikt. Nu nog een paar dagen zal zij bij ons verblijven, maar dan gaat ze echt naar huis, naar haar moeder, haar tweelingbroer en verdere broers en zussen.
