Two surgical projects As is to be expected the hospital will be taken into full operation by December 2009. Two plastic surgery projects are planned for October and November 2009, led by Dr. Reinier van Twisk and Dr. Ron Hiles, in which we hope to be able to treat 100 children or more .
After-care projects
With the commissioning of the clinic in April 2009 we will be able to provide speech therapy, psychology, physiotherapy, urology (self catheterization) and dental care.
Donation Projects
Since the year 2001 we donate vegetables, fruit, meat, milk and other food to the children of Arequipa on a weekly basis. The children’s orphanage Chavez de la Rosa is owned by the government. The food is provided by the municipality. However, the meals are inadequate and do not meet the needs of children aged 0-12. More than 75 children, mostly foundlings and orphans, are assigned to live in this home. The orphanage in Sabandya is entirely dependent on private donations. This home houses nearly 40 mentally and physically disabled children.
Hospital Goyeneche and its patients
The Hospital Goyeneche, the poorest hospital in Arequipa, owned by the Ministry
of Health, is supported by the Foundation since 2000. Thanks to medical equipment and materials donated by Erasmus Medical Centre and Medical Centre Haaglanden, significant improvements were achieved in the operation section and in the nursing rooms. Subsequently we started donating basic medical material – which patients have to provide for themselves before any operation or treatment – directly. In doing so, these patients – who are lacking the necessary funds – are supported by the Foundation as well.
The donation of drains
As a result of the support of IF (International Federation of Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida), since 2000 donations are made in order to provide surgical packages with drains to children with birth defects such as cleft spine and hydrocephalus (e.g. as a complication of TB). In Peruvian daily life patients buy their own drains whereas the financial resources are lacking.Twee operatieprojecten In december 2009 zal naar verwachting het gehele kinderziekenhuis in gebruik kunnen worden genomen. Twee plastische-operatieprojecten zijn gepland in de maanden oktober en november. De projecten worden uitgevoerd door de teams van Dr.Rienier van Twisk en Dr.Ron Hiles. Ook dit jaar hopen we 100 kinderen of meer te kunnen opereren.
De nazorgprojecten
Dankzij de ingebruikneming van de polikliniek in april 2009 kunnen wij de nazorgprojecten logopedie, psychologie, fysiotherapie, urologie (zelfcatheterisatie bij een neurogene blaas) en tandverzorging uitbreiden.
Donatieprojecten
Sinds het jaar 2001 doneren wij wekelijks groente, fruit, vlees, melk en andere etenswaren aan twee kindertehuizen in Arequipa. Het kindertehuis Chavez de la Rosa is eigendom van de gemeente; het eten wordt verzorgd door de gemeentelijke gaarkeuken. Echter, de maaltijden zijn niet afgestemd op de
behoeftes van kinderen in de leeftijd van 0-12 jaar. Ruim 75 kinderen, veelal vondelingen en wezen, wonen in dit tehuis. Het kindertehuis Sabandya is geheel afhankelijk van particuliere donaties. In dit tehuis wonen bijna 40 geestelijk en lichamelijk gehandicapte kinderen.
Hospital Goyeneche
Het Hospital Goyeneche, het armste ziekenhuis van Arequipa en eigendom van het Ministerie van Gezondheid, wordt door ons sinds 2000 ondersteund. Dankzij de schenking van medische apparatuur en materialen van het Erasmus MC en het MC Haaglanden, konden we de eerste jaren een belangrijke verbetering in het operatiecomplex en de ziekenzalen van het ziekenhuis bewerkstelligen. Daarna zijn we overgegaan op directe ondersteuning van de patiënten van het Hospital Goyeneche door het doneren van medische basismaterialen, die de patiënten zelf moeten betalen om een operatie of een andere behandeling te ondergaan. Echter vanwege het ontbreken van de benodigde gelden, worden deze patiënten door ons ondersteund.
Het doneren van drains
Dankzij de steun van IF (International Federation of Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida) doneren we sinds 2000 aan patiëntjes, geboren met een open ruggetje of waterhoofd of die door een andere medische oorzaak (bijv. complicatie van TBC) een waterhoofd ontwikkelen, het benodigde operatiepakket met drain. In de Peruaanse praktijk geldt dat een patiënt zelf de drain moet aanschaffen. Vaak bestaat hier het probleem dat daarvoor de financiële middelen ontbreken.

El día, 11/07/2009 el Sr. Jhonathan Quezada Lira, egresado de la escuela Carlos Baca Flor, de Arequipa; acompañado por el Sr. Percy Herrera Arancibia, egresado de escuela de Bellas Artes de Lima.

Artistas plásticos, comprometidos con nuestro proyecto se apersonaron a la Clínica Tony Molleapaza Rojas, trayendo un obsequio, 4 cuadros que servirán para darle mayor colorido a nuestras instalaciones; fruto de muchos días de trabajo e inspiración, motivados por el noble trabajo que nuestra ONG Paz Holandesa, viene desarrollando por mas de 10 años, ayudando a niños en la Región Arequipa y el Sur de Peru.

Agradecemos este gesto publicamente, pues nos ayuda a no claudicar en nuestra lucha en pos de nuestro objetivo terminar y poner en funcionamiento la Clínica Infantil “Tony Molleapaza Rojas”.

Vandaag werden wij verrast door de Arequipense kunstenaar Jhonathan Quezada Lira. Hij bracht en doneerde 4 schitterende schilderijen voor het ziekenhuis als blijk van dank vanuit de Arequipense gemeenschap.

Een bijzonder nobel gebaar, waar we ontzettend blij mee zijn en tevens het eerste ziekenhuis in Arequipa zullen zijn, die over een eigen (bescheiden) kunstcollectie beschikt. Zo wordt het ziekenhuis beetje bij beetje opgenomen in de Arequipense gemeenschap. We gaan ze een mooie en prominente plek in het ziekenhuis geven.Today Jhonathan Quezada Lira, a artist/painter from Arequipa, accompanied by Percy Herrera Arancibia, also artist, suprised us by bringing and donating 4 beautifull paintings that will give even more  color to our facilities; fruit of many days of work and inspiration, motivated by the noble work that PAZ-Holandesa, ,by helping children in the Arequipa Region and the South of Peru for past 10 years.

We are very thankful for this gesture, because it helps us in our fight after our objective to finish and to put into operation our Children Hospital “Tony  Molleapaza Rojas”.

Since 2001 we have supported the children’s home Sabandya with donations of food and giving medical aid. This private home accommodates 40 physically and/or mental disabled children and stands under the inspiring control of Senora Luz, meanwhile 70 years old and psychologist of profession. Mentally and/or physical disabled children are an outclosed in the Peruvian society, in spite of for example the obligation of the Ministry of Education take these children in the regular education, what is not done however by the education institutions. The group which in Sabandya stays falls still more outside the boat, they have, as it happens, no parents and have no birth papers. This makes that they are no accepted within the system of the Ministry of Health etc.etc. and even worse they don’t exists formallyl.Sinds 2001 ondersteunen wij het kindertehuis Sabandya met het doneren van voedsel en het geven van medische hulp. Dit particuliere tehuis herbergt inmiddels 40 lichamelijk en/of geestelijk gehandicapte kinderen en staat onder de bezielende leiding van Senora Luz, inmiddels 70 jaar oud en psychologe van beroep. Geestelijk en/of lichamelijk gehandicapte kinderen zijn een uitgesloten groep in de Peruaanse samenlevening, ondanks bijv. de verplichting van het Ministerie van Onderwijs om deze kinderen in het reguliere onderwijs op te nemen, wat echter niet door de onderwijsinstellingen wordt gedaan. De groep welke in Sabandya verblijven valt nog meer buiten de boot, zij hebben namelijk geen ouders en beschikken niet over geboortepapieren. Dit maakt dat zij nergens recht op hebben, biet binnen het systeem vallen van het Ministerie van Gezondheid etc.etc. en nog erger zij bestaan formeel eigenlijk niet.

El grupo de padres de Arequipa (APEBHI) celebro su 8º aniversario con una fiesta  en el nuevo hospital de Paz Holandesa. Fue el comienzo de un programa largo de del manejo de continencia en Paz Holandesa. IF asegurara que todo el material y conocimiento esté disponible. La APEBHI y Paz Holandesa organizaran una reunión mensual para monitorear el programa de soporte. El Presidente de IF, Pierre Mertens, felicito a la APEBHI con su excelente trabajo y resultados.De oudergroep APEBHI Arequipa in Peru vierde zijn 8ste verjaardag met een bijeenkomst en feestje in het nieuwe ziekenhuis van PAZ- Holandesa. Het was tevens de start  van het continentie programma in PAZ- Holandesa. IF (International Federation of Spina Bifida en Hydrocephalus) zal zorgen dat al nodig materiaal en de kennis beschikbaar zullen zijn. APEBHI en PAZ- Holandeza zullen een maandelijkse vergadering hebben om het steunprogramma te controleren. A donation by Koen and Rit FranckEen gulle gift van Koen en Rit Franck

Enkele weken geleden vierden Koen en Rit Franck uit Mechelen, Belgie, hun 25 jarig huwelijksfeest. In plaats van cadeaux vroegen zij giften ten bate van onze stichting. Een fantastisch bedrag van 600,- euro werd naar ons overgemaakt. In de eerste plaats feliciteren wij natuurlijk Koen en Rit met de gouden bruiloft en danken hun hartelijk voor de gift. We vonden het leuk om te weten hoe en wat de keuze voor ons project. In 2008 hebben Nora en Erik Meeus tijdens hun vakantie in Peru ons project bezocht en waren enthousiast. En niet alleen vertaalden zij dat in een gift van de Wereldwinkel, maar hebben het bestaan van PAZ ook tegen vrienden en kennissen verteld. Koen werkt als tandarts in een wijkgezondheidscentrum in een kansarme buurt in Brusselen beiden zijn al langer dan 25 jaar aktief in de solidariteitsbewegingen en de ontwikkelingssamenwerking.Wat eigenlijk allemaal is begonnen met de basisbewegingen in Brazilie ; de bevrijdingstheologie ; de dood van Romero , de overwinning van de Sandinisten in Nicaragua enz….Daarom ook zijn zij altijd actief geweest in Oxfam wereldwinkels en ging Koen werken in een wijkgezondheidscentrum , heeft Rit gewerkt bij mensenbroeders ….. Zij voelen zich solidair met mensen en projecten in de derde wereld die strijden voor meer rechtvaardigheid en dan vooral in Zuid-en centraal -Amerika !Some weeks ago Koen and Rit Franck, Mechelen, Belgium, their 25th years wedding. Instead of presents they asked donations for the benefit of our foundation. A fantastic amount of 600, – euro was transferred to us. In the first place congratulate we of course Koen and Rit with their golden wedding and thank their cordial for the gift. We found nice to it know how and what the choice for our project. In 2008, Nora and Erik Meeus during their holiday in Peru, have visited our project and were enthusiastic. And not only translated they that in a gift of the world shop, but have also told the existence of PAZ to friends . Koen works as a dentist in a district health centre in a deprived neighborhood in Brusselen and both are  already longer more then 25 years active  in the solidarity movements and the development cooperation. What actual all has started with the basis movements in Brazil; release theology; the death of Romero, the victory of the Sandinisten in Nicaragua etc.….For this reason also they have been always active in Oxfam world shops and went Koen working in a district health centre, Riet have been worked at man brothers ….. they feel themselves jointly with people and projects in the Third World which fights for more justice and then especially in South Central – America!
